when boys are the victims of heterosexual sexual abuse...

Within our patriarchal culture, sexual abuse of males by cisgendered females is invisible. It is illegible. It can't happen, by definition. Well, maybe if there was some kind of satanic cult of other extreme and unusual body of deviancy involved. And strap-ons.

All the female teacher/male student scandals...how many times have I heard the same crappy late night talk show joke recycled? As if women can not abusively wield authority in a sexual context. As if a boy is less of a child when they have a crush on a woman who is their teacher than a girl is in the same scenario with the genders reversed. Everyone (well, at least a lot of people,) get that a 15 year old girl who sleeps with her male English teacher was "taken advantage of". A boy who sleeps with his female teacher is LUCKY. Even if the relationship really fucks him up and derails his life, as happened in a lot of these recent scandals.

What makes it worse is there's no way for the boys involved to discuss what happened. It must be hard for them to be able to even see themselves as having been victimized in any way. I read an article about one of these kids recently. One of the saddest parts is the response of the community to the situation:

One day, Jason says, he was stopped in the hall by Joe Maimone, the school's police officer, who asked him outright if the gossip was true. Jason spilled his guts, telling Maimone about sex with Ms. Tapp, the love triangle with Scibilia, the way the whole thing was messing with his mind. According to Jason, the policeman hung on every word — then jubilantly high-fived him, promising not to tell anyone.

So it should come as no surprise that noted asshole Jimmy Kimmel could not pass up the opportunity to grill Li'l Wayne about his sexcapades with an older girl when he was eleven. Even though, as Wayne tells it, the situation didn't sound all that...consensual. Less like two kids fooling around. more like a teenager taking advantage of a younger kid, Still Kimmel's all "you stud, you!" (with all the racist implications you'd imagine...) despite Wayne's obvious discomfort. It's pretty uncomfortable.
